progress bars, and huge web pages and jaws

Hi all,
I had a rather annoying situation last night with jaws 6, and the progress bar. Most of you may be glad to know, so far my time and date are holding, and I'm not getting any error activation messages when jaws comes up.

I was in a private chat room, using ivocalize, and whenever I was talking, jaws was continually reading progress bar changes, I guess that's what it was doing. It kept going from 10 percent, 14 percent, 17 percent, 22 percent, then it would go back down to 10 percent and start over again. I thought at first the page wasn't loading properly, and I wasn't making the trip, but I was talking just fine. I don't mind those percentages when I'm downloading my email, or browsing web pages where you just surf and read, since when it gets to 100 percent, it stops, but having it jumping up and down like that in a room where I'm trying to talk is a bit annoying. I thought I'd turned it off, but I was in the jaws window when I went in config manager and turned it off. I forgot about shift alt d to make it a default file. Why was that progress bar going up and down like that while I was talking? If the percentages have anything to do with whether you're getting out or not, I would'nt have been making it across at all. What was going on with that?

Also, when I'm on a page that has 200 headers, and over 1000 links, jaws doesn't automatically come up telling how many links and headers arrre on the page, and when I press insert f1 to find out, jaws is slow, and stops talking for about 30 seconds, or there abouts. This is with jaws 6. Dose something need to be set, or is it just a little bug? Thanks,
wonderwoman

I've noticed that to, when I was playing with Teamtalk, it's a mystery to me as well.

Hi Caitlin, now that the date reset its self right, jaws doesn't have an authorization problem, but if it goes back, then I'll have this problem all over again, but so far its holding.
